access statement
Commoners sing and have adventures in all sorts of different places - in big venues, in small independent venues, in community centres, on walks, up hills, at festivals, in libraries, on boats, online - and as a result, not all of our activities will be accessible for everyone.
Some of us have formed an Access Group to make sure that we are as clear and transparent as possible about accessibility for Commoners and audiences. The access group commits to:
- Ensuring that our regular rehearsal space is physically accessible and has accessible toilets. Please contact the access group on the email address below if you have any other access needs.
- Providing venue access information* for Commoners members ahead of gigs through posts on Facebook and through members email.
- Including access information for audiences on our website gig listings, preferably by linking to access information on the venue website.
- Ensuring that access is part of the conversation when planning activities
- Being named contacts who can be contacted with any concerns, questions or comments either in person or through a dedicated email address.
*To include general access to building/performance space, access to the stage, seating on stage, quiet space, ventilation etc
Anyone is very welcome to join the access group, and you can contact them on commonersaccessibility@gmail.com
